In case you guys haven't heard Ferarro, from the blog Paladin Schmaladin, recently got outsed as being a fake. I thought this would make for an interesting topic on the next show.

Here's a link to WoW.com's post on the whole deal: http://www.wow.com/2009/05/31/the-curious-case-of-ferarro/

That's in question though too! Apparently WoW.com looked at the IP addresses used by the seven different Ferarros over the years and either all seven Ferarros live within miles of each other, or it is just one person. So many twists, this story is turning into a mini WoW soap show!

Well, what the wow.com article said was it looked at the comments going back to last June or July (can't remember which) and they were from similar locales. That would only account for Ferarro 6 and 7, but they made it sound like it was going back to the first one 5 years ago.

Over at the Class Discussion forum, Immune had suggested that Paladin Schmaladin be removed from the list of Paladin Class sites because Ferraro had been outed at a fraud.

I mentioned that the information was probably still helpful, to which I was countered with "True but we don't know if what she wrote is actually hers. Just a thought."

I thought this was an interesting comment for blogging in general. There are many class sites out there, and a large number of them don't have what would be called "exclusive data". By that I mean that the data being shared was pulled from another site, Elitist Jerks for example. Which begs the question - is the value of a site measured by who posts the information, or the validity of the information itself? For example, if someone posts a raid strat that is very effective, but they themselves have not done the raid, is the strat considered "invalid"?

I totally agree with your perspective, Rokk. I think a pretty large number of sites cull their info from other sites. Haf sends DK's to Skeleton Jack and Elitist Jerks. That doesn't mean his info is less valid. If the strats work, they work. As far as I've heard, Paladin Schmaladin has been one of the premier info sites for Pallies for years, and the info was good then. What makes it bad info now?

exactly, so what if there were 7 ferraros, the blog never changed and it was always info. Its actually a good thing that there were more than 1 because then you can get more perspective on it
