| Inquisitor posted his theory of what the "Cataclsym" could mean in regards to the expansion, changing the face of Azeroth and how it would relate to the possible new races. And, wouldn't you know, MMO-Champion has confirmed that this theory isn't as far fetched as many faulted him for being. http://www.mmo-champion.com/index.php?topic=92919.0And, what more, I have personally spoken with Boubouille about his source, and he strongly believes that these ideas are based upon solid information. So, what are your thoughts on Cataclsym? Will the Cataclysm be caused by our defeat of the Lich King? Will retooling the original Azeroth interest you in reliving old content? | |

| I actually spoke with him about this yesterday. Unfortunately he is VERY French, not that it is a bad thing. His English is very broken and he isn't comfortable doing an audio podcast in English. But, we are hopping to put together an alternative to audio. Be on the look out! | |

| I like the general idea. I've been hoping Bliz would revamp the old content for a long time. But the new race/class combos don't seem quite right. Ever since Bliz gave H/A Pally/Shaman they have always kept a balance between the race/class options. Giving Horde another druid race (troll) but not one to alliance doesn't seem likely.
... but then again, this may just be an incomplete list.

| I, personally, LOVE the idea of revamping old Azeroth. Seriously, how many more continents/worlds can they add? I'm interested to hear how the phasing will work for this if it's true. Blizz has done phasing in WotLK of course, but nothing like changing the face of entire zones.
Also, I don't think the killing of the Lich King (Well, it will technically be Arthas. Lich King might live on.) will have any affect on Azeroth, except maybe the eradication of the scourge. The way the info was presented on MMO Champ, Deathwing and Ashzara have teamed up to take over/destroy Azeroth for their "master" (the old god in the middle of the Maelstrom). Deathwing, being the Earthwarder, and having substantial powers of his own could've easily caused the cataclysm with the help of Ashzara and the old god. Especially since they seem to have been hiding, planning, and building their powers this whole time. With Arthas out of the way, they probably see it as the perfect time to strike.

| I think the old world needs an update, but I really can't get behind goblins on the horde. As I horde player I really feel like we are getting the shaft. On one hand you have one of the most written about fantasy icons Werewolf’s and on other you have Goblins the minor villains at best of most Fantasy. What we Kobold to notable for the Horde?
Now this isn't to say I don't like Goblins I do, I think they are core neutral factions in the game and lore wise it wouldn't be a huge deal. My problem here is far as things to keep me interested in World of Warcraft into another expansion over another year in a half to two years I can’t see myself rolling a Goblins. I sure many people will try out Goblins when they are new but without some kind of leveling advantage like death knights I doubt many will make it to 85. Maybe I'm alone in this but judging from comments I have seen people are really exited about Worgen and oh yeah there Goblins too.
I think this will affect an already unbalance server populations. With faction changes coming will people move their rich 80 Horde to the Alliance where they get to pick their race. Which most likely will include at least six classes, chances are good if your not a Death Knight there will be a place for you with the Worgen.
If there is any truth in this its far to late for blizzard to turn back now but still doesn't make it one of there better idea of late. I would have much rather seen a new healer class added to the game but is another topic.

I would guess that Blizzard would simply disallow faction changes on specific servers if it would disrupt the balance even further. We've seen them limit server transfers by faction, so it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility. Hopefully we'll get some clarification on some of these rumors this weekend at Blizzcon.
