| Hey Everyone, Wanted to give a tip regarding the Iron Counsel, I know places like Boss Killers will inform you that if your going for the easy mode you need to kill Steelbreaker first, but many have tried their hand at using a DK tank to sponge up the damage, and have had a hard time with it. Recently in an Ulduar group we did, I got stuck MT'ing Steelbreaker and Runemaster, I am normally Ret, but jumping in the tanking ring is nothing new to me. Our DK was simply too hard to heal though he has fantastic gear for it. Given the right spec/glyphs (read: Glyph of Divine Plea) + Kings and Vigilance the damage mitigation was substantial, it was easy to heal me and Steelbreaker went down fast. If you are in for progression there are times that guides are a great resource but always be open to trying a tank or dps that the guide doesn't suggest. This is nothing new to older raiders, but some guilds on our server get stuck in ruts trying to do exactly what the guide suggests, its a new instance, always 100 different ways to try it! good luck! | |

| The worst problem with steelbreaker is getting insta-gibbed by a fusion punch and a damage rune at the same time. It's also one of the easiest problem to fix, just move steelbreaker around when the damage rune is about to be casted. | |

| YaY my first post in rawrcast /end fanboi My guild is working Iron Council hard mode, and have just about got it. The first BIG thing, is the type of tank you are using. Believe it or not, well geared FERAL tanks are better suited for steelbreaker due to their exceedingly high HP, and Armor. This gives them an disturbing advantage. We were using a DK tank (one of our primary main tanks) on him for a while, and it was by accident that he happen to be called out, and the only alternative was a manbeartree (I love this reference.) and we made serious progress afterward. Both tanks, are equally geared and skilled, it is not a player issue, it is simply a difference in the nature of tank mechanics that work in favor of one class over an another. The tanks will inevitably die from the Debuff. the big thing is not having careless deaths, in fact, you can't have anyone die except steelbreakers tanks.. and that has to happen at a certain point. Popular wisdom, and practice puts 45%hp on steelbreaker is nominal before the first tank dies. if you have any more questions do plz ask | |

| My tip: use a warrior tank for Molgheim and Brundir, as you can interrupt Brundir even with stuns-but only as a delay for you Gag Ordered Heroic Throw or Shield Bash. I tank both of them regularly and you can keep him shutdown the entire first phase very easily with all the stuns and interrupts available. This prevents any extra unnecessary damage on the raid. Also, have the warrior tank face M&B AWAY from Steelbreaker, as when he's going to cast a Rune of Power on Steelbreaker, he'll turn to face him giving the warrior time to yell at the DK/Droodel to start moving S, this usually prevents the Punch/Rune combo that gibs a tank. | |

| I hope you don't mean tank them both at the same time? It is kind of unnecessary to do so.
With regard to WHO tanks runecaster and stormcaller, really any tank will do. We tend to use paladins on a number of HM's including IC because of their ability to frontload a lot of threat. This allows our dps to run in swinging, which allows us to kill runecaster sooner....and as such, lessen the chances for anyone to either get gibbed, or take any serious amount of damage.

| Thought he was talking about easy modes^ If you aren't going to tank Molgheim and Brundir simultaneously what are you meaning? Bring 3 tanks? That's unnecessary if that's what you mean as they're easy to heal through.
Ofc any tank will do to tank the two at the back, but if you're looking for the tank most suited to the job, it's hands down warrior with all the interrupts, intervene and charge (for Brundir) on easy mode. Hard mode I can't comment on, haven't attempted it yet.

| yeah, I am talking about hard mode. Just leave stormcaller in the back.. his damage is minimal. Because of this, we are able to get by with a total of two tanks. Druid tanks Steelbreaker, and the paladins (and yeah, sometimes warrior) tank runecaster then stormcaller in succession. | |
