| Being somewhat of a noob (6 months), I rushed through the content fast to get to 80 with all my friends. I enjoy raiding the most, but was thinking of starting PvP to fill in the time. You could spend some time taliking about where to start, what to do, and where and what gear to get. I know nothing about BGs, arenas, or WG. | |

| The best way to learn how to PvP is to get into some. To explain each battleground or to explain abilities to counter other abilities would take quite the post (which I hardly have time for). But I'll give you some pointers to consider:
- Learn, if you haven't already, to turn around with the mouse instead of the keyboard. - Keybindings (if you don't know what it is, search online) - Utilize Macros, although I don't personally use any myself. It varies from person to person and class to class. - Watch PvP videos of the class you're playing. Gives you and idea of what you should be doing situationally, sequentially, etc. - Gear up through BG's, honor points will get you gear from your faction's quartermaster. Some can be attained through badges.

| Well first things first there's your spec. Some good specs, and discussion of specs can be found at arenajunkies.com Second, I'd consider not going in alone, you'll get stomped and it will get real old real quick. S0 grab some mates and jump in. At least it'll then be funny when you get stomped Do Wg every day, nice pvp rewards from the WG marks, also nice honor from the quests and for just going there. You're first objective however, is to get enough honor for you Medallion of the Horde (or equivalent-2min cd). This will save your butt countless times. Then start farming BG's for more honor to start building up a Deadly set (next patch this should be purchasable with honor alone in hall of legends/equivalent.) While in WG, go VoA10 & 25, top pvp gear drops from these places. If you have anymore questions, I'll watch this post a while | |

| Also you can use up any extra valorous and heroism badges you may have hangin around to purchase pvp gear. IDE also like to know what class you are becuase some classes like warriors and dk's can go and do well in pve gear.
More to come soon | |

| All the above posts are great suggestions. The main thing you need to do is get PvP gear. PvP gear is very different than the PvE gear you're use to. It's all about the Stam/Resil. Like the above posters have said, WG/BG's/VoA are great ways to get some PvP gear at 80. Also your spec will make a world of difference. Like someone said, arenajunkies.com is a great place for all things PvP (rotations/glyphs/macros/specs/gear). If you're going to PvP w/ your 80 I'd recommend using the duel spec option to have PvE/PvP specs. Also if you want, grab some of your buddies and make an arena team. The new rating system is very forgiving, you don't loose points until 700 rating.
Another take (which is something i'm going to do), is to wait until next patch. Once 3.2 hits you can actually get XP from BG's. I'm collecting heirloom items (mainly from WG shards so they have Resil) so that i can start a new toon and level him purely in PvP. With heirloom Shoulders/weapons/trinkets/chest (coming in 3.2) leveling is blast. And don't forget that you can now enchant heirloom items w/ Pre-BC enchants (any enchant that doesn't require a lv.)
I created my PvP alt a few days ago and it's been really fun. While leveling him i make sure i'm in the LFG channel (you can just LFG in a zone to get you in the channel) and keep an eye out for anything i'd want to join as my 80. Personally i hate just tinkering around doing dailies etc. until i find a grp, so this is a fun way to keep my busy. But then again, i'm an altaholic
So if you find yourself disliking PvP w/ your 80 (maybe the class/spec you enjoy is just not suited for PvP) then i'd recommend you try out a PvP alt.
