| As someone mentioned on episode 14 of your podcast, I think if it takes a raid (An uber leet one at that) 3 hours to zerg it, it isn't an exploit. Heigan, yes, the corner haxx was an exploit (Did I use it? Of course I did, my group stuggled with that fight for the first few weeks and it just seemed the easy although boring... option).
In my opinion, the people flaming Hafrot and his buddies either don't have the gear/skill to pull a stunt like that off, or are angry after they did the encounter the harder(?) way.

| We had tried the 10-man "normal" way, similar to the 25-man strategy, and had more difficultly with it than we had in heroic mode. So, I think there are just as many challenges with stacking a good group and pulling off the 10-man as there was learning the 25-man strategy.
I agree, those haters on the forums are just that... Haters!

| When doing one of those 10 man sarth zergs , do you have to stack you group? because then there would be people who would never be able to do the instance. liek a shadow priest for an example | |

| Yes, it is entirely stacked - either ALL melee or ALL ranged. There very well could be a mix, but casters won't benefit at all in the melee group because they don't get any of the caster buffs/bonuses that they get from other ranged classes (Curse of Elements for Mages as an example). We have had the most luck so far with a heavy melee group, but we are going to try a ranged group and let you know what happens.
Speaking of which, I was asked to join this week's 10-man melee zerg and heal.... and we were successful! Not only did I get my 10-man 3-d achievement, but also the Gotta Go When the Volcano Blows achievement by pure accident.

| There are alot of videos of caster groups doing the Zerg on Sarth so it's entirely feasible. It's just important that you have your buffs stacked.
I was so happy for Stomp getting the achievement I hopped out of my chair and ran over and gave her a big hug. She said after the first attempt that she didn't think she could heali it but was willing to give it another try. Once she reinforced the idea that if you're not the tank and you're taking alot of damage, you were going to die, people tightened up their game and we got Sarth on the next attempt!
Once I realized she got the Gotta Go When the Volcano Blows achievement I went over an punched her in the mouth... so lucky! ><

It's alot of work to heal as a lone healer for sure. I think probably chain heals from Shaman make them ideal to pull it off, but as our resident bark covered green number generator can attest, any good healer can do it. I doubt that any single healer would be able to heal through the regular strategy for Sarth 3d until the next expansion. Just too much raid damage. ...not sure if that makes you feel any better.

| To comment on an earlier post: There is definitely room for a Shadow Priest. When we were stacking the raid for 6-minute Malygos, Shadow Priest is up there for caster groups. Misery is a must, and replenishment is incredibly helpful considering that Arcane Mages slurp through their mana like ice cold Mountain Dew. I understand the difficulty of burst damage with SPriest, but I can attest from seeing it first-hand that SPriest can be pretty damn nasty. | |

im not main spec healing anyway, i just do it SOOOO many times, probably my total respec cost is probably like 1000g They track your respec costs (at least from 3.0 on) in the Statistics portion of the achievements. I'm around 1800 or 1900g in respecs so far, so I feel your pain and share your dual spec enthusiasm!

I totally agree with this! A well played and geared Shadow Priest is just nasty dps. Aside from the buffs, the damage is formidable and can give any caster a run for their money. Our guild shadow priest is consistently hovering around the top of our damage meters. Now, I'm starting to miss my little dorf shadow priest. I miss joo Loredrin! ><

| Heya, I don't think it's an exploit per se.... it may not have been what they intended, but if you read the achievement closely, zerging him fits right within the description...: "With all three drakes active, engage and defeat Sartharion the Onyx Guardian on Normal Difficulty" Reading the achievement, one might almost say that killing any of the drakes AFTER you engage Sartharion is an exploit! On a side note, had the pleasure to say hi to Haf right after we zerged sarth the other night. Keep up the good work on the show! Wibble | |
