| Yeah, i'm a Druid tank, just hit 80 3 days ago for the first time and I wanted to make a post to discuss the Druid class (all aspects) if anyone else was interested. | |

| I play a raiding resto druid, my dual spec is going to be a bear which i have gathered gear for over the last few months to the point where its amost BIS. Any tips for a new tank? Which heroics are easiest for a newb? | |

| I can tell you this, I'm not looking forward to leveling my kitty to 80 now that they've taken away the burst damage.
I thought it was slow leveling before... this is not going to help.

| I actually despised trying to level as a kitty. I found it to be like a gimpy melee Warlock. I ended up doing the bulk of my leveling as Moonkin. A little rough on mana at times, but Innervate is amazing.
As for tanking, it sounds like you already have an offset built. If it consists of even a few epics you should be well on your way to tanking any Heroic you want! Utgarde Keep and Violet Hold are pretty simple to tank. If you want to test your skill, I'd suggest those to warm up.

| I found it annoying to level up as Moonkin once you had a couple levels under your Northrend belt. I kept going OoM. I had some decent Kara gear on that toon as well, but it didn't matter once she had the next level spells which required more mana.
I switched both my ally and horde druids as feral and it was easier, but still slow compared to my shaman.

| That's weird. My mana problems were gone by the time I was in Northrend. And Shaman leveling is just ridiculous. Enhancement can solo almost anything with those damn wolves. | |

I found mana to be a serious, time-consuming issue. As for the wolves... yeah... I loves 'em.

| Feral druid here. My one and only druid spec. I guess because of that I've never had a problem with kitty leveling. I'd say 95% of my WoW life has been spent as a cat. | |

Well, being a tank myself, I can tell you that tanking is going to take a bit. To tank heroic you want about 20-22k hp and to tank Naxx (OT) you'll want at least 25k hp in bear unbuffed. Defense isn't that important, yes it gives you extra dodge rating so don't turn gear down just because it has Defense, but you really don't have to hunt it down. You'll want stamina the most followed by agility (Strength is now a valid attribute because of Savage Roar) dodge and crit. Most of all you want to focus on your defensive druid abilities rather than the offensive ones but you also want to be able to keep aggro, so pay attention to both. As for glyphs, I personally use glyph of Maul, Challenging Roar, Growl, Frenzied Healing (That's a big one) Unburdened rebirth (Offtank can rez a healer) and thorns (really good for when there's adds inc.)

I leveled as a cat too, actually I was able to do most 2 - 3 person quests by myself though out outlands and NR until level 80.

| I leveled up to 60 as a cat prior to wrath coming out, but got bored with it, possibly because i had a rogue previously as my main and was sick of the energy/combo mechanic. Having much more fun leveling it now as a boomkin | |

| Yeah, Boomkins are pretty fun, but I couldn't get into it... Pretty much for the same reason as your cat/rogue issue, I leveled a mage to 70 before. | |

| boomkin was easy to level from 70-80 but I kinda cheated I had t5/6 level gear to level in.
But in general leveling period is a pain in the butt imo for any class/spec some more than others.
For instance i have a DK decked in kara/BT gear as i got carried in guild fun runs and the toon is still lvl 71... I blame the lack of interest due to me leveling one from 55-80 in the beta. Also, the fact that DK's saturate all the servers.
